Keep the kids active after school and during the holidays

Enrolments are now open for the Spring holiday program and Term 4. Let your kids run, jump, splash, or hit their way through a variety of fun sporting programs. We are excited to see the return of Swim School, with the re-opening of our Milton State School facility.

There is a wide selection of term and holiday programs to keep your children active and healthy.

New athletics track on show to the nation

UQ Sport in partnership with Queensland Athletics has won the bid to host the 2011 Australian All Schools Athletics Championships.

The event, which is anticipated to attract up to 1100 participants, will run at the UQ Athletics Centre from 2 - 5 December 2011.

This will be a fantastic opportunity to showcase the new track, our magnificent campus facilities, and the UQ advantage. Our partnership extends to the colleges who we have engaged to provide accommodation to participants as well. Well done to the Athletics Centre team!

Exciting new themes for multi-activity holiday programs

The upcoming Spring holiday program will see the introduction of new range of themes and activities for both the ActivePlay and ActiveSports programs. These are set to add even more fun and excitement to the already popular programs.

Active Tribes Program Coordinator, James Patmore says "the new daily themes will set the basis on what activities will be available each day throughout the holidays, allowing children to learn more about the rules and background of the activities, whilst still promoting a fun and active environment."

Some of the themes that will be run during ActivePlay include:

Working as a team: Team challenges & relays, hockey, tug-o-war, obstacle course, and target games.
Get cultural: Capoeira, fencing, dance, creative movement, cooking skills, art/craft, and circus skills.

Some of the themes that will be run during ActiveSports include:

Olympic sports: Cycling, athletics, swimming, hockey, Volleyball, soccer, basketball, and badminton.
American sports: Basketball, vortex, softball, dodgeball, and lacrosse.

Enrol now in the Spring holiday program.

Survey winners!

At Active Tribes we value customer feedback about all aspects of our business.  At the end of each term and holiday program, parents are asked to complete a survey which allows us to ensure we are continuing to meet your expectations.  All survey respondants go into a draw to win a free enrolment in the upcoming program.  Congratulations to the latest winner!

  • Winter survey winner:  Tara Jones
