Active Tribes Launch

Active Tribes will be officially launched this Wednesday 16 June by the Parliamentary Secretary for Health and State Member for Everton, Murray Watt.

Having commenced operations in January 2010, the Active Tribes program aims to get kids "active for life", and provides an important tool in the war against issues such as bullying and childhood obesity.

Children from local schools will be invited to participate in a half-hour Team Athletics circuit at The University of Queensland's Athletics Centre, before UQ Sport's Executive Director, Kim Guerin will invite Mr Watt to officially launch the program.

Invitations will be extended to parents, local and state media, and the entire UQ Sport community. Light refreshments will be provided. Hope to see you there!

The launch commences at 10am.
